I feel she has had tremendous success in her own classroom which is very exciting to see different treatments actually used and being successful. She gives parents a lot of great techniques to use at home as well as some curriculum. Dianne also brings the health of a child into the playing field, she has an amazing theory and observation of yeast and fungus playing a role in the symptoms of apd. I am just starting my journey of apd, hope this helps someone.Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11580632073587718152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723766943773988223.post-48327123498364417272017-08-18T05:15:06.525-07:002017-08-18T05:15:06.525-07:00Great post! There are also a lots of ideas shared here. It’s true that young children with disorder need to spend most of their time exploring and getting hands-on, but sometimes online content can mix with hands-on activities to provide a rich learning experience for our youngest students.educationmarketingpromo@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17763871207990943341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3723766943773988223.post-16218493054967003792015-12-05T17:32:36.341-08:002015-12-05T17:32:36.341-08:00Nice share....Thank you.

We used ACE curriculum woth my granddaughter but my grandson is not able to grasp the phonics at all. We live in a rural area without access to reading specialist or such. Does anyone know of a homeschool curriculum that doesnt use phonics as the means to learn to read? I know when I was a child in public school, phonics wasn't used, just sight reading (if that is what it's called.). I like to graze myself and I can totally see how that would help kids with fatigue as well as sensory needs if they have any. :) I also love the idea of the Plastecine clay as a fidget for sensory input while listening.

I'm going to go read your article now....I love it! Your article is fantastic. I am going to share in on my Facebook page as I think a lot of people will really appreciate it. As an adult with just (or mainly) APD, I know grazing always helped me if I got fatigued with concentrating (rather than having three big meals a day), so that is an idea for you. Another thought is, my second grade teacher used to have everyone dabble with Plastecine clay while she read aloud (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe). When I volunteered in my kids' second-grade classroom and mentioned that, the teacher loved it and did it too. Anyway, I want to share an overview, "What is Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)?" written for adults coping with it and the people they encounter; it's at: http://wp.me/p30k25-2. I wrote it when I couldn't find anything satisfactory that tries to encapsulate the experience and advice along with some expert input. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
